connect and get involved

Whatever your passion, we have a place for it. Our established clubs and affiliate clubs offer something for everyone, whether it be German dancing or Karneval festivities. Getting involved in clubs is a great way to connect with other members, and maybe learn a thing or two in the process. Don’t worry, no experience is necessary to join any of our clubs.

Karneval Gesellschaft Rot/Weiss

We celebrate the German tradition of the Karneval Season, which runs from November 11th each year through what is known as “Fat Tuesday” in New Orleans, which is the official end of Mardi Gras. The Season begins with the Proclamation Ball (with the appointing of a Royal Prince and Princess), the Costume Ball, the Narrensitzung (Court of Fools) and Rosen Montag (where we bury the “Spirit” of Karneval.)

Razzle Dazzle Dance Group

Our ladies dance group performs at club events. We do varied routines to Jazz, Pop and Rock & Roll and our group is geared towards fabulous ladies over 50.

The Big Band Era is back, brought to life by Bennett Harmon and The Orlando Big Band (a 501c3). With our vintage 40’s orchestra, we will transport you to an era when America was producing some of the greatest music of all time! Hear the music of Glenn Miller, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, Cab Calloway and many others all together on one stage. The Orlando Big Band is a full 20 piece orchestra that perfectly recreates that true 40’s big band sound. Our “Andrews Sisters” will take you back to those Boogie Woogie days.

Orlando Big Band will host monthly Swing Dances at the German American Society.  Check your calendar for dates.

Band Preservation is an affiliate nonprofit organization with Orlando Big Band. Our programs involve new young musicians through educational outreach; assist aspiring musicians in need of instruments; offer monetary gifts to the arts and reach a wide segment of the Arts community including dance, instrumental, classical and vocal.
